Week Two: Striving Together for the Gospel
Last week, we were reminded of an essential truth: the church is not a building—it is the people of God. Buildings are wonderful tools for ministry, but they have never defined the church. Christ is building His people, and wherever His people gather in His name, the church is present.
That truth naturally leads us to another important question:
If we are God's people, how are we to move forward together?
As we prepare for this next season at Crosspoint, our greatest need isn't simply a smooth transition into a new facility. It is a continued commitment to walk together in the unity Christ has given us. A church can occupy a beautiful building and still struggle if its members are divided. But a church that is united around Christ and His gospel is a powerful testimony to the world, no matter where it meets.
That is exactly where the Apostle Paul directs our attention in Philippians 1:27:
"Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel."
As our church prepares to enter a new season, it's easy to focus on logistics and countless details to coordinate. While those things matter, Scripture reminds us that something even more important deserves our attention: our unity.
Paul wrote these words while imprisoned for the gospel. Rather than asking the Philippians to focus on his circumstances, he urged them to remain steadfast together. His concern wasn't simply that they believed the right things separately—it was that they stood together in those beliefs, "stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel."
That phrase paints the picture of people working shoulder to shoulder toward a common purpose. The Christian life was never intended to be lived in isolation, and the mission of the church was never meant to depend on a few individuals carrying the load. God has called His people to labor together.
Unity, however, doesn't happen by accident.
Every church is made up of people with different backgrounds, personalities, preferences, and opinions. Those differences are not weaknesses—they are part of God's design. But they do require humility, patience, and grace.
Colossians 3:12–14 '“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.”
Crosspoint, our greatest testimony will not be how beautiful our church building is but that we love one another, share the Gospel with our community, and pursue Christlikeness together.
Psalm 133:1 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
Unity is not uniformity. It doesn't mean we all think alike about every issue. It means that what God says matters, and so it matters to us too. We choose to protect the relationships God has given us, refusing to allow criticism, gossip, or personal preferences to distract us from the greater mission.
Paul also reminds believers:
"...that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God." Romans 15:6–7
Our unity has a purpose. Our love is attractive. It magnifies Christ. When a watching world sees believers loving, serving, forgiving, and encouraging one another, it reflects the transforming power of the gospel.
As Crosspoint steps into this next chapter, let's determine that our greatest contribution won't simply be setting up classrooms or arranging chairs. It will be striving together—with one spirit and one mind—for the faith of the gospel.
Buildings may change. Ministry methods may adapt. But our mission remains the same.

- Assume the best about one another.
- Pray for our church family.
- Speak words that encourage, build up, and bring peace.
- Look for practical ways to serve alongside someone else.

This is a great opportunity for women in our church family to go and share God’s Word and love with women who need hope and Christian friendship.
Men’s Conference

Men, join us for the Crosspoint Men's Conference— centered on God's Word, worship, and prayer. Together we'll be encouraged and challenged to grow as men who love Jesus and faithfully follow Him.

Sunday @ 9:30 am & 11:30 am - Worship gatherings
Childcare and classes are available for kids through 4th grade.
Check-in for childcare starts 15 minutes prior to each gathering.
Wednesday @ 7:00 pm - Bible Study
Come each Wednesday for Bible study. Be strengthened in your walk with the LORD and your connection with our church family. Throughout the summer, we will have separate Bible studies for men and ladies. At the end of the Bible study, we break up into small groups for discussion, connection, encouragement, and prayer.
Wednesday @ 7:00 pm - Summer Kids
A summer kids program will run for ages 0-5th grade. Check in starts at 6:45 pm.
(Our Awana discipleship program for kids will resume next school year)
