The Wisdom of Our Words
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
Every day we speak hundreds, even thousands, of words. Some are quickly forgotten, while others leave a lasting impact.
A timely word can strengthen someone who is weary, restore a strained relationship, or point someone toward Christ. On the other hand, careless words can wound deeply and leave scars that linger for years.
Proverbs has many reminders that our words carry tremendous power. They reveal wisdom or foolishness and have the ability to shape the lives of those around us. As followers of Christ, our speech should reflect His grace, truth, and love.
One of the clearest marks of godly wisdom is found in how we respond to others:
A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1
Gentle words are not weak words. They require humility, self-control, and a heart that is yielded to the Holy Spirit. When we choose to respond with truth and wisdom- instead of reacting in anger- God can use our words to bring peace where there is conflict and hope where there is discouragement.
As a church family, let's ask the Lord to shape our speech this week.
- Do my words encourage and strengthen those around me?
- Am I quick to speak or quick to listen?
- Are my conversations marked by grace, truth, and gentleness?
- How can I intentionally use my words to point others to Christ?
Let’s ask God to help our words be a source of life, encouragement, and blessing as we seek to honor the Lord in every conversation.
This week, spend time reading Proverbs chapters 10–12. Notice how often Solomon speaks about the power of our words, and ask the Lord to help your speech reflect His wisdom each day.

This is a great opportunity for women in our church family to go and share God’s Word and love with women who need hope and Christian friendship.

Lunch, water, and watermelon is provided!
Lunch will be served @ 12:30pm
🔸 We will have some picnic tables under the pavilion, but feel free to bring a lawn chair.
🔸 There is a volleyball court and a full court basketball court so if anyone wants to bring a volleyball or basketball you can use those facilities.

Membership Class
July 18 at 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Join us for our upcoming Membership Class at Pastor Phillip and McKenzie's house. Brunch will be provided during the class. Please note that there will be no childcare available.

Ladies’ Retreat 2026

We’re thrilled to invite you to our annual ladies' retreat! This is always a special time to head out of town to reflect, worship God, study His Word, build friendships, and just get refreshed. Come with us!

Sunday @ 9 am - Prayer
We believe in the power of prayer. We would love for you to join us for this special time to seek the Lord together before the morning service.
Sunday @ 9:30 am & 11:30 am - Worship gatherings
Childcare and classes are available for kids through 4th grade.
Check-in for childcare starts 15 minutes prior to each gathering.
Wednesday @ 7:00 pm - Bible Study
Come each Wednesday for Bible study. Be strengthened in your walk with the LORD and your connection with our church family. Throughout the summer, we will have separate Bible studies for men and ladies. At the end of the Bible study, we break up into small groups for discussion, connection, encouragement, and prayer.
Wednesday @ 7:00 pm - Summer Kids
A summer kids program will run for ages 0-5th grade. Check in starts at 6:45 pm.
(Our Awana discipleship program for kids will resume next school year)
