Preparing Our Hearts — Good Friday✝️
It’s Good Friday.
Although it’s natural to focus on Easter coming up this Sunday—the celebration of an empty tomb and a risen Savior— it’s important we pause.
Good Friday calls us to look inward.
This is the day we remember the cross.
Not casually. Not quickly. But reverently.
Scripture tells us, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Good Friday reminds us that our salvation was not easy or cheap. It was purchased through the suffering and sacrifice of the sinless Savior taking our place.
Jesus didn’t just die for the world.
He died for you.
Pause and just think about it.
In a world that moves fast, Good Friday invites us to slow down and consider the weight of what Christ has done. “He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief… He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities.” Isaiah 53:3,5
Second, we reflect.
We remember that it was our sin that held Him there—but also His love that kept Him there. Jesus willingly endured the cross so that we could be reconciled to God. That kind of love changes us. It softens our hearts. It should deepen our gratitude.
Third, we respond.
Good Friday isn’t just about remembrance—it’s about surrender.
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” Galatians 2:20
We must choose to lay down our pride, repent of any sin or distractions, and draw near to Jesus again.
When we truly grasp what Jesus has done, we can’t help but want others to know Him too. Not out of obligation, but out of love. We’re not just trying to fill up seats on Easter Sunday. People’s eternity matters.
So today, prepare your heart.
Sit at the foot of the cross.
Let the weight of it move you… and let the love of it compel you.
Because Sunday is coming, the empty tomb will declare what Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross made possible. Dead things come alive in the name of Jesus Christ.

It’s a Q&A panel for the single women and men of Crosspoint, happening here at the church.
A panel of married and single Christians will be answering questions about navigating your season and living it well with Christ. It’s going to be a fun and encouraging time together.

We love celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Savior! Be sure to grab some invitations to share with your friends and family!

Join us for our upcoming Membership Class at Pastor Phillip and McKenzie's house. Brunch will be provided during the class. Please note that there will be no childcare available.
