Wisdom Journey – Week 5
Seeking Wise Counsel
Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14
Our culture celebrates independence. We are encouraged to trust ourselves, follow our hearts, and figure things out on our own.
God’s Word teaches a better way. In Proverbs, we are reminded that wise people are teachable people. Wisdom recognizes we don't have all the answers and willingly seek counsel from the Lord and from those who know and love the Lord.
Seeking wise counsel is not a sign of weakness—it is an expression of humility and spiritual maturity.
Proverbs reinforces this truth:
Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established. Proverbs 15:22
God provides us wisdom through His Word, prayer, and the faithful believers He has placed around us. Whether we're making a major life decision, navigating a difficult relationship, or simply seeking to grow in Christ, godly counsel can help us see what we otherwise may miss.
Scripture instructs us to seek counsel from people whose lives are marked by faithfulness, biblical wisdom— from those who honor the Lord.
Pro tip, wise counsel will never lead us away from God's truth but will always point us back to Him.
As a church family, let's ask the Lord to cultivate humble and teachable hearts this week.
- Do I seek God's wisdom before making important decisions?
- Am I willing to receive correction, even when it's difficult?
- Who are the godly people I can turn to for biblical counsel?
- Am I becoming the kind of person who offers wise, Christ-centered encouragement to others?
May we be people who treasure God's wisdom above our own understanding and gladly receive the counsel He provides through His Word and His people.
This week, spend time reading Proverbs chapters 13–15. As you read, notice how often Solomon contrasts the teachable heart with the prideful heart, and ask the Lord to help you grow in humility and wisdom as you seek His direction.

This is a great opportunity for women in our church family to go and share God’s Word and love with women who need hope and Christian friendship.

(The covered pavilion next to the kids playground)
Lunch, water, and watermelon is provided!
Lunch will be served @ 12:30pm
🔸 We will have some picnic tables under the pavilion, but feel free to bring a lawn chair.
🔸 There is a volleyball court and a full court basketball court so if anyone wants to bring a volleyball or basketball you can use those facilities.

Membership Class
July 18 at 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Join us for our upcoming Membership Class at Pastor Phillip and McKenzie's house. Brunch will be provided during the class. Please note that there will be no childcare available.

Grieving Together - A Night of Hope & Healing

Know someone who is carrying the weight of grief from trauma or loss?
Invite them to Grieving Together—A Night of Hope & Healing on Thursday, July 30 at 7:00 PM.
This evening is open to everyone. Whether someone has walked with Jesus for years, is searching for hope, or simply needs a place where they won't have to grieve alone, all are welcome.
We'll spend time together, find comfort in God's Word, and be reminded that there is hope even in the midst of loss.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4
Bring a friend, a family member, a neighbor, or anyone who could use hope, healing, and caring community. We'd love to walk with them.🙏
Single Ladies Gathering
August 1 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join us for the third gathering in our new series, Secure in Christ, with the single women!
This time, we’ll be exploring the topic of loneliness, and how to find true security in Christ through every season. Plus, we will have a Q+A panel to answer questions you have regarding the topic of loneliness.
You can submit questions (anything related to loneliness in the season) anonymously through the link provided below!
Come ready to hear a powerful testimony and be refreshed by God’s Word.
A light breakfast will be provided.
Ladies’ Retreat 2026

We’re thrilled to invite you to our annual ladies' retreat! This is always a special time to head out of town to reflect, worship God, study His Word, build friendships, and just get refreshed. Come with us!

We believe in the power of prayer. We would love for you to join us for this special time to seek the Lord together before the morning service.
Sunday @ 9:30 am & 11:30 am - Worship gatherings
Childcare and classes are available for kids through 4th grade.
Check-in for childcare starts 15 minutes prior to each gathering.
Wednesday @ 7:00 pm - Bible Study
Come each Wednesday for Bible study. Be strengthened in your walk with the LORD and your connection with our church family. Throughout the summer, we will have separate Bible studies for men and ladies. At the end of the Bible study, we break up into small groups for discussion, connection, encouragement, and prayer.
Wednesday @ 7:00 pm - Summer Kids
A summer kids program will run for ages 0-5th grade. Check in starts at 6:45 pm.
(Our Awana discipleship program for kids will resume next school year)
